ETEC Contributes to the Progress of Long Phú 1 Thermal Power Plant – A Nationally Significant Project

The Long Phú 1 Thermal Power Plant is one of Vietnam’s most urgent and critical power-generation projects. With a designed capacity of 1,200 MW across two units, once put into commercial operation, the plant is expected to supply approximately 7 billion kWh of electricity annually to the national grid.

The project carries strategic importance for national energy security and plays a particularly vital role for the Mekong Delta region—Vietnam’s key agricultural hub that has long faced challenges related to transmission infrastructure and stable energy supply.

Amid the urgent construction atmosphere at the site, and in alignment with the determination of the Investor and EPC Contractors, ETEC (ETEC Technology Construction Company Limited) has been carrying out 24/7 construction over 45 consecutive days, striving to complete the project’s more-than-200-meter-high chimney—one of the most significant and symbolic structures of the Long Phú 1 Power Plant. This work is being executed with a strong focus on safety, speed, and precision to meet the overall project schedule.

Throughout implementation, ETEC has:

• Mobilized teams of skilled engineers and technicians working in continuous shifts;
• Strictly adhered to all construction and safety standards of the project;
• Closely coordinated with the Project Management Board and EPC Contractors to maintain overall progress;
• Ensured rigorous quality control across all stages of assembly and completion.

Timely completion of the chimney plays a pivotal role in sustaining the project’s high-paced construction momentum and contributes significantly to achieving the goal of bringing Long Phú 1 into commercial operation by the end of 2027.
